Stage 1: Hero and World
Introduce the hero and their ordinary world
Present the protagonist's normal life, environment, and relationships—establishing the status quo. A subtle detail hints at a deeper conflict and the protagonist's hidden desires or fears.
📖 Storyline Prompt
What is the hero's ordinary world? What defines their daily routine, relationships, and environment?
💗 Heartline Prompt
What is the protagonist's greatest desire or fear? What inner wound or longing shapes who they are?
🌉 The Writer's Bridge
"How does a subtle detail in the hero's ordinary world hint at their deeper dissatisfaction and foreshadow the main conflict?"
⚠️ Common Pitfalls
Overloading with backstory
→ Introduce only essential details that hint at deeper layers without overwhelming the reader.
Failing to establish clear stakes
→ Emphasize what might be lost if the status quo persists.
